Vice President
Dr. Carlos Wightman is a dedicated educator originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. He holds both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Master of Arts (MA) from Tulane University, as well as a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Louisiana Monroe. Additionally, he earned a Master of Science in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Southern Maine. With over six years of experience in higher education, Dr. Wightman has successfully facilitated learning for diverse adult populations through innovative strategies that focus on adult literacy, English language proficiency, and graduate teacher education.
Currently, he serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Seminole State College of Florida and Grand Canyon University. In these roles, Dr. Wightman designs and delivers curriculum across various proficiency levels, ensuring alignment with educational standards. Furthermore, he provides guidance to future TESOL educators pursuing their MA in TESOL at Grand Canyon University.
Finally, as an active member of several professional associations, Dr. Wightman continuously seeks opportunities for professional development. He is recognized for his expertise in curriculum development, assessment strategies, and cross-cultural communication. Through his work, he advocates for learner-centered approaches and fosters an inclusive atmosphere that promotes all students' educational success and personal growth.
