Ian Dreilinger is Associate Dean of the School of Speech and Languages at Valencia College, where he leads faculty development and program innovation while staying connected to his teaching roots. With over a decade of classroom experience in IEP, EAP, and ESOL, Ian brings a student-centered perspective to educational leadership, working to create inclusive environments where diverse learners can thrive.
A double UCF Knight, Ian earned both his BA in Modern Languages and MA in TESOL from the University of Central Florida. His background in language education and passion for innovation shape his approach to leadership, whether supporting faculty in course design, navigating emerging technologies, or streamlining administrative processes.
Ian's tech-forward mindset drives both his professional and personal pursuits. At Valencia, he's involved in AI initiatives that focus on ethical implementation and enhancing human connection in learning. After hours, he's constantly building digital solutions: websites, interactive storytelling platforms, and specialized micro-tools, always with an eye toward solving practical problems or creating unique experiences.
As a board member and webmaster for Central Florida TESOL, Ian connects TESOL professionals throughout the region and contributes to professional development and conference organization.
When he's not coding or working with faculty, Ian cherishes time with his wife, two sons, and daughter. You might also find him cooking something spicy, making or discovering new music, buried in a good book, or squeezing in a gaming session after the kids are asleep, all experiences that help him connect authentically with educators and students from diverse backgrounds.
